Welcome to Sport is Hope!

Sport is Hope is a Christian football charity, which operates across Uganda, working with churches and other organisations to bring faith, fun and football to all. We organise football training sessions, matches and even some camps and tours. You can find out more about what we do in the summary list below. Camps

At Sports is Hope we are all about Jesus and crazy about football, and when you bring those two together, it’s explosive – a week filled with football matches, skills training, new friendships and lots of learning. Why would you want to be anywhere else? Sports is Hope’s football Camps are designed to give developing players an opportunity to learn basic and advanced football skills, such as dribbling, passing and shooting, in a fun and encouraging Christian environment. In addition to an excellent coaching staff, we provide daily life-related Team-Talks, geared towards bringing hope, building teamwork and developing character in the lives of local youth. Football Camps offer a great opportunity for churches to engage with their community. We are passionate about assisting local churches to run a football camp and find a doorway into the lives of children, youth and families.

Tours

Football Provides opportunities to gather and travel which allows us to get to know one another, Care for each other, pray for each other and try things out together. Sport is hope can host football tours that offer a fantastic touring package catered for your school and church.

Women's Football

Women Football has only been known and played in a few years in Uganda and is beginning to be enjoyed by many at grassroot level. Has brought social change and many young ladies have found a sense of purpose since their contribution in society is now appreciated and recognized. Their turn up to football sessions with that ‘big smile’ brings excitement and joy.

Youth Football

Playing football is a great way to build friendships and trust with both children and youth in your community. We often see football as a way of not only interacting with young people but eventually the family as they see and hear positive stories from the youth that attend sessions which is a key part of our outreach.

Prison Ministry

Though prisons may be looked at as places of rehabilitation and retribution, we believe that football provides a rare opportunity for social contact and the prospect of bringing encouragement, hope and patience. Football is fun!

Training

We train coaches to empower them on how to use football as a possible tool of evangelism. Football can be loved by everyone and therefore coaches learn about the influence of actions and words. Learn about how to bring forth holistic change in player’s lives, develop effective coaching plans and technical football coaching expertise.
