Annual report 2023

Sport Is Hope 2023 update

SIHO has had another successful year by bringing many young people together with football, in order to share the gospel.

Our numbers have continued to grow within this time which has enabled us to reach out to many young people, whilst expanding the regular participants. ( We now have over 100 individuals who attend our sessions weekly)

Part of our success in expanding has been down to the female outreach program that has been targeted at young women to encourage them to exercise more and hear the word of God. Their skills have developed greatly and the enthusiasm they bring gave them the confidence to attend our next big achievement which was the sport is hope’s football tournament.

The tournament took place just after the young people had broken up for the Christmas holidays giving them something active to do with there spare time. The event lasted 4 hours with the women’s tournament being played alongside the men’s. All went well and trophies were won by team Emmanuel and team Revelation.

We were lucky enough to have the assistance of 2 UK volunteers (Josh Rivers who is one of our trustees, and his wife Sitara Rivers who works as an advisor for the charity).

Our mission for 2024 is to build on what we have been blessed with so far and to reach out to more young people. With this in mind our management strategy has now reached a point in which we need to streamline our efforts. We will be working with a smaller team of trustees but a larger team of advisors in order to make decisions quicker.

We can gladly say that God has gifted us a wonderful year and wpray that 2024 will just be as successful.
